Solid Gold Accounces a Grand Opening

Come visit the new shops and services and meet residents of the lofts, while enjoying great live jazz and blues music from Manteca Beat and the multicultural grooves of DJ Manny; adesigner showcase fashion show brought to you by Method Hair and Solid Gold Boutique and Spa; take in a gallery talk by Charles Randolph and TerrenceMoline; sample local culinary delights from area restaurants; take your kids to visit the educational play area; and shop for art, gifts, goods and services from new Saltillo businesses and East Side artists and artisans.

It's a afternoon of family fun, shopping, and community networking that just won't be the same if you are not here with us. And, though just having a good time with us is reason enough to join us, all of the event's vendors and Saltillo businesses will donate 10% of the day's revenues to one of our favorite East Side charities, Any Baby Can.

On Thursday, April 12, 2007 from 6pm - 10pm, The Austin Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival (aGLIFF) welcomes springtime with urban chic at its 2nd Annual Spring event BLOOM at The NEST at Big Red Sun. This event aims to pollinate the burgeoning film community with an upscale, outdoor celebration featuring VIP BLOOM ROOM presented by Mercury Design Studio and a grand prize drawing for a 2007 Mini COOPER. Drawing at 9pm - you don't have to be present to win.

BLOOM opens with unique spaces featuring the theme "bloom." Complementing Big Red Sun's retro botanical setting, the evening bears food, spirits, rejuvenating visuals courtesy of Jenn Garrison and a DJ set of downbeat and lounge music. The VIP Lounge, fashioned and festooned by 2nd Street District's Mercury Design Studio, comes outfitted with an open bar, gift bags, and a toast with its signature drink, the BLOOMtini. Access to the VIP BLOOM ROOM is limited to Annual or Perennial event sponsors and aGLIFF members at the Producer level and above.

Event: The first annual Style the Show, benefiting Friends of Girling Hospice, will be held at 7 pm Thursday, April 12th at One World Theatre. The festivities will include cocktails, dinner, a silent auction, a raffle to win a trip to NYC, and a style show by Envie Boutique.
Organizer: Friends of Girling Hospice, a non-profit organization 501(c)(3), whose mission is to provide financial assistance for essential needs such as food, shelter, utility bills, and funeral expenses, among many other things.

Ticket range: $100 per person; $750 for table of 8
