Angels on the Runway

Heart House Charity Fashion Show; Angels on the Runway. This exciting event will be held this Saturday, August 23rd at the Austin Music Hall. In addition to seeing the latest styles by Top Designers firsthand, there will also be a reception, a silent auction and a fabulous VIP after party that is not to be missed.

Heart House Overview: Heart House provides a free afterschool and summer program dedicated to ensuring a safe haven and academic support to children, encouraging them to become productive citizens. This innovative daily program serves low-income school-age children in neighborhoods known for high crime, high unemployment, and lack affordable, quality care.

This designer showcase includes: Robert Comstock, Joanna Ruley-Garza, Stephanie Jimenez, Stephanie Montes.

Local Artists Open Their Doors for One-day Sale Featuring Hundreds of One-of-a-Kind Creations from Jewelry, Clothing and Accessories to Paintings and Prints--Just in time for the 2007 holiday season, this one-day sale gives the public a rare glimpse inside the creative workspaces of Bouldin Creek's finest artists, craftspeople and creative mavens. With seven different diverse and vibrant studios to choose from, the Bouldin Creek Studio Tour offers the community a chance to discover unique treasures for holiday gift giving while supporting local businesses.

My lo-down: Austin's creative vibe is alive and kicking. The East Side Art Tour two weeks ago signified a true blue grassroots effort.

Again here's an artistic lineup not to miss. It's the Bouldin Creek Studio Tour. Set for Saturday December 1st. This event highlights: Stella Alesi - Painter/ Photographer, Stephanie Lindsey - Baby Jane Jewelry Designer, Shannon Lowry Round Robin Press, Rachel Lavin Jewelry Designer, Brain Alesi - Alesi Art, Leslie Bonnell - Desinger and Sewing Instructor, Katie Saver - Ramonster, Andrea Sher-Leff - the Redhead Godness.

An impressive crowd considering - I have taken a sewing class from Leslie Bonnell and seen Katie Saver's creations on the catwalk at the Stairway to Heaven.
