Nanette Lepore
Go to Glam.com to read a daily journal highlighting the good and bad of fashion week byNanette Lepore .
"This type of real time online re-cap is a sure sign of the times. Designers want to place a fresh spin on both their PR efforts and business model."
"Designers like the freedom of selling direct. It affords the possibilities of higher profit margins and more creative freedoms. Not to mention, an improved direct sale model allowing each designer to stay in touch with their followers/shoppers to create the perfect feedback loop placing brand equity directly back into their label... not a mega retailer, which seems to be wrapped-up in a constant state of consolidation." - Beth Lambert, Editor-in-Chief
Blah Blah Blah - Either way it is entertaining to be in-the-know. Here is a quotable from the designer directly following the always exhausting fashion week.
Well, that’s a wrap for Fashion Week. I hope you all had fun seeing how unglamorous it can be behind-the-scenes. I’ve already started all the preparations for Coterie (a big fashion trade show) that is ever-so-conveniently scheduled right after Fashion Week.
The Coterie - we were there. An a quick glance through her booth and collection screamed texture, flirty silhouettes, and unmatched range of color (that other designers shy from). leaving us to say - YEP that is signature Lepore.
Shop Austin: Valentine's Too, by George, Garden Room
Favorite Feature: This designer has a true universality. Worn by both the cute (Jennifer Garner in 13 going on 30) to the ever-confident sex vixen (Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex and the City). Sold in Nanette Lepore shoppes all around the world. Dedicated to a strong point of view and true spirit consistently shown in each and every collection.
Noted for her love and devotion to her family and friends. We wanted to show her with daughter Violet following the ready to wear runway show.

Stand By Your Man?
It is time for another celebrity re-cap.
Mrs. Brittany Fiderline Spears. Please , if he doesn't dress the part leave him at home. I mean really, Mr.
Spears, you couldn't come up with something to off set the bows, mini skirt, and patent leather "fifth grade collage". Take a look at the couple at the Sony BMG post 2006 GRAMMY Awards party.
WOW - What a pair it is like the blind leading the blind.
Why not follow the lead of Ms. Sheryl Crowe. Who is glowing at the Clive Davis' Annual Pre-GRAMMY Party.
Her new independent look is simply flawless. Forcing us to conclude - a guy should be a girl's best accessory.
Reminding us all of a simple but important rule - your guy should add not distract, enhance not take away and well darn it - look good.

Love Stinks
For those of you who agree with the J.Giels Band that "Love Stinks...", we recommend you stage your own anti-love protest. It is good for the ego and well -- heck it makes others giggle.
Here are a few things to do after you tell cupid to go choke on a arrow.
# 1 - Start your own personal grassroots campaign among your single girlfriends.
Go to Cafe Press create buttons, postage pals, and bumper stickers. Something like "Save the Misguided . . . Date a Guy" - totally works.
Remember, power in numbers - girls. like minded unite.
#2 - itune your way back to emotional sanity and download your favorite "hater" tunes. Limp Biscuit Rearrange comes to mind, but don't stop there
Choose from over 1 million tracks for only 99¢ a song at iTunes or spread the love and give your favorite girlfriend her own ticket to mental health with iTunes gift certificates
.
# 3 - Submit your ex-boyfriend's profile into the Dr. Phil Show.
I hear the master life strategist has added romance into endless areas of "expertise". Why not see how far someone else is willing to go to train your ex. (lord knows you tired)
#4 - Get active - start an "I am going to look so good it will make you cry" workout routine.
Take steps to select a great new collection of workout-wear/inspiration starting with the Top 10 Best Selling Women's Athletic Wear from Activa Sports.
Finally - relax there are to many fish in the sea to get that worked up ... maybe #5 should be a better fishing rod.
Happy Valentine's Day my single friends.

The Single's Girl Survival Guide
So you are without a date on Valentine’s Day, believe me when I say you maybe the lucky one.
I have definitely had my share of below average valentine dates. Hello, “a dozen roses does not a good evening make”. I mean the over emphasis on romance mixed with the wrong guy, whose level of anticipation rises, as he thinks his good behavior should obviously lead to alittle something-something. Is simply DREADFUL.
Why not spend your evening laughing with girlfriends. You simply can’t beat the right mix of girls, refreshments, and entertainment. Believe me, it TRUMPS the typical Valentine’s date every time.
So, lock the guys out --- they like the visual of a full-fledged slumber party anyways!
Speed dail a few of your single friends - turn on the music, make a few refreshments, and let the free style SLAM contest begin.

Designer - Jenni Kayne
Our Notes: We first noticed Jenni Kayne in September 2005 at the New York Cotorie. Her 2005 Fall Collection filled with of deep saturated hues of navy, charcoal grays and mossy greens leaves many on lookers to think black is sometime of an after thought and others to ask - What will she come up with this Spring?
The answer is a very uncomplicated and different approach to dressing. Each piece within her Spring 2006 collection drapes the form but never binds or cinches. Her choice of free flowing fabrics working with not against natural beauty is somehow displayed in a type of new signature style.
Designer Bio: "With education and practical experience on her side, Jenni showed her first collection for Fall 2003. Her commitment to design and production was captured in a debut that garnered favorable reviews and significant retail attention. Moreover, Jenni used this first collection to define the principles that would drive the evolution of her line."
Stay tuned we will let you know...where to shop and buy this designer soon enough...

Dart Board of Love
Truth be - unlike Glamour we don't have the time to take a street poll, but a blind fold swirl and toss towards the dart board of love would pin most guys to.... pick a little v-day "after-wear" over the typical pair of Cuff-Links or boxers.
Here are our top "after-wear" picks:
1. Lace camisole & brief set (shown)
Any one of the three will be a guaranteed bulls-eye.

Plan of Attack
Here are a few sale shopping tips to remember as you bring-in-the-Spring.
Less than 40 percent of all clothing is sold at full price. Some stores mark up so they can mark down.
Teri says the life expectancy for full-price clothes is about nine weeks, but only pull the trigger if it's a hot fashion item. Stores have gotten wiser and don't make the huge batches of the same trendy clothes. Fashion "mistakes" — bad ideas in the first place — are the first to go on sale and those are often the best deals — as much as 80 percent off! Another secret — some stores even create items that immediately go on sale at 50 percent off.
Beware: What you may not know is that items that were made to sell at 50 percent off are usually lower quality.

"Give is a new collection of travel accessories that marries the concept between fashion, function, and philanthropy seamlessly - a portion of the net profits is donated to designated charities."

Don't Speak
We would have to agree with rocker, Gwen Stefani who sang "Don't speak...I know what you're thinking". No more words or at least worn across your chest. Hello you are not a billboard.
Isn't it better to be a bit mysterious, anyways?
So why not opt for a less literal ways of self expression, such as the Heartfelt t-shirt (shown) from fredflare

So you are an online shopping newbie. An you don't really see what the big deal (outfit) is...
No Worries, we understand the whole head-to-toe, to purse, to shoes thing down to an art. It easy breezy - three steps and your are done..
ONE: Start with your favorite piece. Simply, browse the web and select that one must-have. Always remember must-haves should scream you. As a quick tip exclusively shop only those sites which reflect your individual vibe. Infact pull together a top three list.
For tutorial sake - we choose this ivory dress (shown) from Anthropologie as our must-have.

TWO: Select your versatile accessories carefully. As accessories can make or break the bank. We shopped online and found the same style of shoe all varying in cost.
1. The Slingbacks
2. Comfy Leather Espadrille at Solestruck.com
3.Charles David Crumpet at Solestruck.com
A finally bring on the extras...
THREE: Opt for those current styles. It makes or breaks the fresh factor of any outfit. This season choose a hobo bag such as the Large Pleated Tote from Cole Haan (shown), layer those long necklaces, double up on those metallic (even tarnished) bracelets, and wooden earrings.
General rule of thumb for this season- add bits of texture and relax those shapes...

Ms. Right
This year's award circuit has proven to be a hot and heated glam gown competition. The most notables being Marcia Cross, Sandra Ho, and Charlize Theron.
Our Pick: Ms. Always Right, aka. Charlize Theron, is shown here wearing all that is current in evening wear. Definitely our favorite look spotted on the red carpet at the 12th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The plunging neckline, the opened back, the long to the floor length and her understated makeup all work. Inching her ahead of the pack.
So, let the competition of the glam gowns begin, continue, and end at the Oscars. Game on! but in a refined, sophisticated and non-contact way.
